Terms of service.
The agreement between you and us when you use Yourtale, in plain language. By creating an account you accept these terms.
Last updated: 22 October 2026
Who you are dealing with
Yourtale is run by Yourtale AS, organisation number 935 129 966, Knausveien 46, 3121 Nøtterøy, Norway. These terms cover yourtale.art and the Yourtale workspace. Contact: hello@yourtale.art.
What the service is
An AI interviewer conducts voice interviews with the person whose story is being told. AI drafts each chapter from what was said. You read, edit and approve the book yourself; no one at Yourtale writes or edits it. We are a young company finishing our first books, and the service will change as we learn.
What is free
You can use the interview without a card. While the checkout is closed, a free daily allowance of interview time applies (ten minutes a day today). We may change the allowance, and we will say so on the site when we do.
The founding order
The founding price is $199, one payment, no subscription. Our checkout is not open yet. You can ask to order a founding book, and we keep your request, but we take no payment and store no card details.
When the book can be ordered, we email you. Nothing is bought until you complete payment then. The price, what is included and the refund terms are shown before you pay, and those are the terms for that order. If you buy as a consumer, you also keep every right consumer law gives you, including the right of withdrawal.
Your stories are yours
You own your stories, recordings, transcripts, photos and the book made from them. You give us permission to store and process them only to provide the service and make your book. We do not publish them, we do not sell them, and we do not use them to train AI models. They are shared only with the people you invite, with anyone you send a read link to or a chapter you choose to make public, and with the processors listed in our privacy policy.
Recording other people
You may only interview or upload recordings of people who agree to it. If the person being interviewed asks us to delete their story, we will.
Acceptable use
- Do not use Yourtale for anything unlawful, or to harass, threaten or harm anyone.
- Do not upload material you have no right to share.
- Do not try to break, overload or get around the limits of the service, or copy it in bulk by automated means.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules. Where we can, we tell you first and give you the chance to download your data.
AI makes mistakes
Drafts can get names, dates and facts wrong. That is why you review and approve every chapter before anything is printed. You are responsible for what you approve.
Changes to the service
We may change or remove features. If we ever close the service, we give you reasonable notice and the chance to download your stories and recordings first.
Liability
We do our best to keep the service running and your data safe, but we provide it as it is. Our total liability to you is limited to what you have paid us. We are not liable for indirect losses. These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them, such as for gross negligence, intent, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using Yourtale at any time and ask us to delete your account, as described in Your data. We may end the agreement if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms.
Law and courts
These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Disputes go to Oslo District Court (Oslo tingrett) as the agreed venue. If you are a consumer, this does not take away your right to bring a case where you live, or to use the consumer complaint bodies available to you.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms we update the date above, and tell you by email when the change matters.
