Hear the voice behind the words
You can now listen back to every interview, hear the real voice behind each paragraph of the book, and invite your family to add their own stories.
A memoir is more than the words on the page. It is the way someone paused before answering, the laugh in the middle of a hard story, the voice you would know anywhere. Over the last two weeks we shipped the features that keep that voice, not just the transcript. Here is what is new.
Listen back to every interview
Every interview is now yours to keep and replay. Open a memoir and you can listen to the full recording again, read along with the transcript, and find the exact moment a story was told.
Why it matters: the book is the finished artifact, but the raw interview is the living one. Years from now, hearing your father actually tell the story is not the same as reading it. We keep both.
The real voice behind each paragraph
Hover over any paragraph in the book and you can play the piece of the interview it came from. The written page and the spoken memory sit side by side, so you can always trace a sentence back to the moment it was said.
Why it matters: it proves the book is true to the person. Nothing was invented. Every line is drafted from something they actually said, and now you can hear it.
Your real voice, saved
We now persist and deliver the real interview audio as its own archive, separate from the synthetic narration. The actual voice of the person being interviewed is preserved, not discarded after transcription.
Why it matters: for many families this recording will outlast everything else. It is the closest thing to having them in the room.
Invite your family in
A memoir does not have to be one person's job. You can now invite family members to join a project, so a sibling can add a memory, a daughter can ask the next question, and the whole family can build the story together.
Why it matters: the people who love someone remember different pieces of them. Together they tell a fuller life than any one of them could alone.
A faster, calmer start
We fixed a slow and occasionally flaky first connection, so starting an interview now takes a couple of seconds instead of twenty. We also made the workspace self-heal, so the button to start talking is never stuck.
Why it matters: the moment someone is ready to talk is precious. We do not want a loading screen standing between them and the first question.
One simple price
We collapsed our pricing to a single offer. One founding rate for the whole memoir, no tiers to compare, and you can buy it from inside your own workspace once you have heard what it sounds like.
Why it matters: deciding to preserve a life is hard enough. The price should not be.
We are building Yourtale in the open, a little at a time. Books are drafted by AI from real interviews and then edited by a person, and we will keep telling you exactly how each piece works as we ship it.
